Strengthening Partnerships for Clean Water: AHD Trains HANDS Foundation on Nadi Filter Technology

Sir Khurshid, CEO of the Association for Humanitarian Development (AHD), along with Mr. Sahir, Youth Program Manager, conducted an important meeting with the staff of HANDS Foundation to introduce and promote the Nadi Filter technology. During the session, Sir Khurshid provided in-depth training on the use, functionality, and maintenance of the Nadi Filter a low-cost, eco-friendly water purification solution developed by AHD. He emphasized the critical importance of access to safe and clean drinking water, especially in rural and underserved communities where waterborne diseases are prevalent.

Throughout the training, Sir Khurshid shared detailed insights into the health benefits of using Nadi Filters, citing success stories from communities where the technology has already made a significant impact. He highlighted how the Nadi Filter not only helps prevent life-threatening illnesses such as cholera and gastroenteritis but also supports environmental sustainability by reducing dependency on plastic bottles and chemical treatments. The interactive session allowed HANDS Foundation staff to engage with the technology firsthand and gain clarity on its practical implementation in the field.

The meeting concluded on a positive and collaborative note. Inspired by AHD’s efforts and the potential of the Nadi Filter to bring about meaningful change, the HANDS Foundation expressed a strong desire to join hands with AHD. Both organizations discussed the possibility of launching a joint initiative aimed at scaling the Nadi Filter project across Pakistan, particularly in high-risk areas of Sindh. The proposed collaboration is expected to strengthen efforts to combat waterborne diseases and improve community health outcomes, ultimately contributing to a safer, healthier future for vulnerable populations.
