Women Empowerment Program

 

AHD envision Women empowerment in every front of life be it economic, social or political. Women make the half of our world but are still deprived and powerless there is significant need to uplift the women status in society to attain ultimate development goals. Strengthening women has always been considered instrumental and remains priority area for AHD.

 

Since its inception AHD has been working for the empowerment of women and to bring changes on grass root level has, by now, established 00000 women CBOs in different areas of Thatta, Badin, Tando Allahyar and Matli. These village women CBOs are actively contributing in the village level development activities which are the key to women empowerment in rural areas. They have been trained to conduct meetings in the communities, to provide health and Hygiene sessions and to disseminate smoke free cooking stove technology.

Women Health is also an important area for AHD, Mobile health facilities have also been made available to marginalized women in rural areas and to enable them to boost the economic status by increasing family income AHD have also distributed kitchen gardening seeds and livestock through various projects.

During the devastating flood of 2010 AHD largely focused on including women beneficiaries as much as possible and it is the main objective of AHD to mainstream gender balance in its all programs and projects.
